About the acupuncturist
Jennifer Simko, your hostess comes from a long line of traditional Chinese acupuncturists and herbalists in the Hoang Family. Carrying out as the third generation in Chinese medicine, Jennifer is trained both in the United States and in Mainland China. Her first hands on experience though, had started at the age of 7 when she and her brothers apprenticed under their father during their escape from Vietnam. Starting at an early age, Jennifer had witnessed the undeniable effectiveness of acupuncture in the jungle of Vietnam and Malaysia. Observing and helping her father successfully treat severe conditions amongst the malnutritioned refugees in the harsh environment where modern medical aid was not available, Jennifer learned to embrace the ancient art of Chinese healing. She is carrying out her family tradition as a New York State licensed acupuncturist in the United States.
Jennifer’s approach is holistic, preventative and individualized. Jennifer uses a combination of acupuncture, acupressure, ear acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, Amma therapy and herbal remedies in order to increase the effectiveness of each treatment. All techniques and equipment are NYS approved. Needles are disposable and sterile and are never reused. After a thirty minutes to 1½ hour session of energy rebalancing in a tranquil setting, relaxation is almost guaranteed. Jennifer specializes on acupuncture for those who are needle shy. Needle-less acupuncture is also available.
Acupuncture is recommended for all individuals interested in obtaining health through a less invasive and more natural healing modality.

About Acupuncture
Originating in China more than 2,000 years ago, acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used medical procedures in the world. In the early 1970’s, acupuncture became better known in the United States after President’s Nixon returned from China. Although most in the United States know acupuncture simply as a treatment for pain relief, it has more than proven its beneficial effectiveness in healing a vast variety of health conditions with at least 1,000 years of clinical data. One of the greatest differences between acupuncture/Eastern medicine and conventional Western medicine is their approach in diagnosis. Eastern medicine is more holistic and continually educates and encourages patients to apply preventative medicine into everyday living. Western medicine tends to isolate symptoms and treat each separately. Eastern approach should be applied to our daily lifestyle to maintain optimum health. Western approach is best for crisis intervention and emergencies. All treatment modality have their advantages and their limits. The best way to obtain health is to take preventative measures.
